I just wanted to share something from my days working in a vet clinic because Chloe’s journey really touched my heart. Years ago a man brought his cat in and she ended up needing a leg amputated too. I still remember the moment she woke up. She was howling and my heart absolutely broke. I was standing in front of her cage just crying because I felt so sorry for her. The vet came up beside me, put his arm around me, and said something I have never forgotten. He said, “Melinda, animals are not like people. They do not look in the mirror and think something is wrong with them. They do not live in that cosmetic mindset. They simply figure out how to go on and live.” That stayed with me all these years. Watching Chloe now, about ten days out and already learning to move forward on three legs, is such a beautiful reminder of how resilient these animals truly are. They adapt. They keep living. And with love and support, they do amazingly well. She is doing exactly what strong animals do. 💕
