I was on meds for 14yrs and I just got off a year ago. My reason, I did not like that I need to rely on a pill for me to feel ok. Using it like a crutch. Instead of being able to handle the low mood, the anxiety attack on my own in a more natural way. It’s more difficult than I thought but I wouldn’t wanna go back on meds. The ups and downs of missing a dose, the side effects, and emotional blunting I haven’t been able to feel and express myself. Meds doesn’t cure the problem, it just hides it.

I think it’s because someone of us don’t know what happiness is. We lived in unhappiness for so long it’s a safe place and we trust it we know what to expect and happiness is the unexpected and we don’t trust it. If something is going good for us to good we feel something is coming for us. Happiness is a stranger to us and we were brought up to not talk to strangers. That’s how I explain it to people. I would prefer being content that’s a good medium for me.

tried a handful of different medications and symtoms were still strong and prevalent. However, even before medication experiences I often wondered If I was keeping myself from being happy. Very Good Question. I know my answer and reasons but i am sure they will be different for many.
