Why does a man need a woman to accept his generosity in order to feel validated? The offer itself is the good act. Whether she accepts it or not doesn’t change that. If your self-worth depends on external appreciation, that’s not kindness. That’s validation-seeking. Men need to build self-esteem internally instead of putting the emotional labor of “making them feel good” on women. Your need to feel appreciated is your work to do. Not hers.
