i think this is what a healthy relationship is like. they should only be the doubler to your happiness, not the main source. cause how can you feel loved if you don't even love yourself?

The period with Ronnie James Dio is perhaps the most exciting and dramatic chapter in the history of Black Sabbath. It was not just a change of vocalist, but a full-scale rebirth of the band that gave the world two classic albums—yet it was also overshadowed by conflicts worthy of a Shakespearean tragedy. 🎸 Heaven and Hell: The Birth of a New Sound After Ozzy Osbourne’s departure in 1979, the band was on the verge of collapse. Dio’s arrival changed everything. His powerful, semi-operatic vocals and epic lyrics about wizards and dragons fit perfectly with Tony Iommi’s dark riffs. The result was Heaven and Hell (1980), an album that critics and fans still consider one of the best in Sabbath’s discography. Interesting fact: The famous bass line of the title track “Heaven and Hell” was not written by Geezer Butler. Its author was keyboardist Geoff Nicholls, who borrowed it from “Mainline Riders,” a song by his previous band Quartz. 🎬 Mob Rules and the Secrets of “E5150” The second album with Dio, Mob Rules (1981), was recorded amid growing tension, but it was still full of strong material. The title track and the instrumental piece “E5150” were created specifically for the soundtrack to the animated film Heavy Metal. Hidden meaning: The title “E5150” is not just a set of numbers. If you read 5150 as Roman numerals (V=5, I=1, L=50) and then add the letter “E” at the beginning, you get the word “EVIL.” 💥 The Split: Live Evil and the Birth of Holy Diver By 1982, relations within the band had reached boiling point. The tour in support of Mob Rules and the recording of the live album Live Evil became the last straw. The musicians traveled in separate limousines (American and British), and Dio and drummer Vinny Appice secretly remixed the recordings at night to make their own parts louder. Frustrated, Dio left the band and, together with Appice, created his own project, Dio. Interesting fact: His solo career’s biggest hit, “Holy Diver,” was originally written for Black Sabbath! Dio composed it while still a member of the band, but since he left, the song became the foundation of his new project. 🔄 The Return and Dehumanizer: A Second Chance Ten years later, in 1992, Dio returned to Sabbath (along with Appice) to record the album Dehumanizer. It was a dark, heavy, and angry album that reflected the spirit of the grunge era. This time Dio felt more confident: “We both reached a compromise, and now we were on equal footing, unlike the first time, when they were Black Sabbath and I had just come from Rainbow.” Reason for his second departure: It all ended when Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler agreed that Sabbath would open for Ozzy Osbourne at his “farewell” concerts. Dio was furious and, according to legend, said: “I won’t support the clown.” He left the band, and Rob Halford took his place at those shows. 🐐 Legacy: The “Horns” and Heaven & Hell Besides music, Dio left behind one important cultural symbol. It was he who popularized the “devil horns” gesture (index finger and pinky raised) as a sign of belonging to heavy metal, explaining it as a superstitious gesture his grandmother used to ward off the evil eye. And in 2006, Iommi, Butler, Dio, and Appice reunited again, but out of respect for history and to avoid confusion with Ozzy, they performed under the name Heaven & Hell (after the title of their first album). This project released one studio album, The Devil You Know (2009), and toured until Dio’s death in 2010. The Dio era of Black Sabbath is an example of how conflict and creative rivalry can produce great music that is still regarded as a benchmark of the genre. #rock #rockmusic #heavymetal #hardrock #dio
