I’ve had glaucoma since I was eight years old thankfully mine was caught early and I had surgery on both my eyes. But it’s a constant struggle to find the right eye drops to keep the pressure from getting high it has been difficult for me I’m always afraid that as I get older I’ll go blind

while going through it vision loss can feel like the loss of your life but the loss of your vision is just one part of your life and eventually you'll start to feel like that and you'll realize you still have life and there's a lot of Life to live and yes there's annoying downsides every day that I encounter but it gets easier and grief if you need to but there is life to live even after the vision loss I hope this helps I know it would have me when I was dealing with and going mostly blind when I was 23 I'm now 41 and I'm driving so I know you will be too

as an ophthalmic technician who works for a glaucoma specialist, I have such a soft spot in my heart for these patients. it is so hard to make people with early stage disease and good vision understand the importance of drop compliance and follow up. I love seeing my regular patients, feel bad they have to come in so regularly, but I'm glad they are taking it seriously at the same time. thank you for spreading awareness ♥️

I always hope patients get the best care they can cause these eye disease are no joke. I cannot stress enough how precious our vision is

I work for a glaucoma specialist and trust me. It’s devastating to her as much as it is to anyone when treatment doesn’t work or when she’s tried treatment and it’s minimal results we hear you we feel you. We hate it, it is such a huge problem.

for three years, I worked at an ophthalmologist who specialize in the care of patients with glaucoma. It is a truly terrible disease. It made me not take my able body for granted. I hope that you can find a treatment that works for you and is not to painful or hard to stay on top of.

I've suffered from it since birth, and I can only see with one eye now. But I'm not sad about my condition, and my self-confidence is very strong. However, when children look at my eye and ask why it's like that, I prefer to walk away rather than answer.
