@allyu161991: This girl had the weirdest thing happen yesterday on bars where her foot got caught under the mat on her glide kip and she instinctively set her feet down and let go of the bar so it counted as a fall. She had been working so hard to clean up her bars this week so the disappointment was heavy and she had to go right to beam after (her most nerve wracking event). Beam was a little wobbly with some form breaks and a spur of the moment dismount change but I was proud of her for thinking on her feet and giving it all she had in the moment (which still pulled a 9.475). It can be so hard to watch them struggle with disappointment or frustration but watching her developing into a calm, quick thinking competitor helps for sure .🙂 Even with a “fall” on bars she managed third all around this meet.
