It's so sad to me how the core of healing really is a good therapist and good friends and I feel like I'm doomed because I've never been able to find either 😭 my life experiences align completely with my shame

I got rid of shame BY learning about human behaviours! When I could see mine and EVERYONE else’s defects I realised nobody’s perfect! I can see doctor

I can’t stop believing something when everything about my current life points to it being true

You basically need to find the memories/impressions that wrote these core beliefs and write over those neurons using a new experience that disproves that incorrect core belief. The beliefs don’t come to you in words- but maybe a sudden realization about yourself with feelings. To find them you need to discover what memories activate or seem close to awareness when you feel that shame. There are neural tracts going straight to the source memory when you feel shame

I did a meditation to a childhood memory where I recall feeling those deep unworthy beliefs. I visualized it leaving my body and going into the sky and then becoming a condensed cloud that then suddenly exploded and rained down little warm embers. I exorcised it. Really helpful. ♥️

you explain things in a way that's so easy to digest and understand, and you covered SO much material in such a short period of time. this is So helpful genuinely

I know all of this logically. But these ideas are so rooted in my subconscious that it is hard for me to make a conscious effort to recognize it in day to day life

Loading that “schema” requires radical honesty. And sometimes it’s a lot easier to climb out using a more reachable bridge emotion (like anger before indifference)

I did this type of unburdening work in IFS therapy. You explain it very thoroughly and concisely. It’s a doooozy doing this type of work but so freeing.
