Whenever possible I consume only things made by women. Books, music, podcasts, social media creators. It’s harder for movies and TV so I don’t watch them much. My family is building 2 homes and we are using a female designer and builder.

American psycho for instance, I've had men argue with me, that the film was only good, because the original book was written by a man. not that a woman wrote the script and screen play, and directed it.

At least 90% of the books I buy now are written by female authors - even if men refuse to see the humanity and worth in women's writing and work, I will not let internalised misogyny creep in and make me do the same. ❤️

well, your first point isn't true is it? there are plenty of things made by women but I like I like the band Evanescence for example, oh and Wi-Fi Wi-Fi was initially developed by a woman, so I think this kind of rhetoric from both genders just needs to stop now. they're a good and bad people. gender has nothing to do with it

Couldn't agree more. I've taken the male approach to reading and now read exclusively female authored books because the way most male authors write women in their books is insulting

My last partner (RIP) loved all music like myself but we both preferred hip hop/rap. One day he said he didn't listen to female rappers. I said do you know how dumb that sounds? What if I said I didn't listen to male rappers, that would sound stupid right? He agreed and ended up liking a lot of the female rappers I listened to. I think he didn't realize he already was listening to and liking female rappers and hip hop artists because he liked Salt & Pepa, Queen Latifa and many others.

I knew a man who attempted to write romance for women. His description of the main character was blonde hair, Blue eyes and really big boobs. in the forward, he literally credited me with telling him that "women would never say that" lots of times but he never changed anything.

I’ve stopped consuming things made from men whenever possible. I see female doctors whenever possible because they are less likely to kill me. I don’t hang out with men in my free time. I can play this game.

Patriarchy would have men believe that if they like something produced by women, other men will perceive them as less masculine. They can’t abide that they might slip down the “ranking” in the eyes of men… and yet, what are those other men actually doing for them, other than offering arbitrary validation? They’re all scrambling to “reach the top” but they’re missing the fact that they’re climbing a pile of 💩

women do make things that people like better. dollar for dollar, women funded projects make more money. it’s just that women projects aren’t funded as often/much or promoted as heavily. same for companies, video games, movies, books, etc. basically any projects
