Pfff. U can retire now. There are things in the stock market that pay 7-15% annually. U live off interest as non qualified dividends, pay like a salary except u don't pay social or Medicare. And ungettto keep msot of that cash

Why do you need social security when you have 1.5 million? Was it intended to be used like that when created?

Generally, most experts suggest withdrawing from your Traditional IRA before your Roth IRA, of course particular situations may differ.

finalcut :
@finalcut:traditional IRA and Roth IRA are tax advantaged accounts. traditional IRA is tax-deferred and roth IRA is tax-free and yes that is because the tax is paid up front when it goes into the account

Should’ve started migrating the qualified traditional account to non-qualified accounts at 59&1/2. Deceased them at 63 to prevent the high IRMAA part B premium two year look back. And then continued to 73 or 75 to reduce RMDs. 🤔😳

Nobody has to be a millionaire to retire!!My mom is nowhere close to that! It depends on your lifestyle and how much debt! I.e.No mortgage, car payment, extensive credit cards!

This doesn’t factor in additional contributions from age 62 to 67.

So if they subtract the $30k for health they both have to live off like $80k/year for two people. Hope they can make it
