@stay_human25: The CEO of Microsoft AI says your job could be fully automated in 18 months. Lawyers. Accountants. Project managers. Marketing. Gone. But nobody is asking the obvious question. If you automate all the workers, who is buying your products? And if every company plugs in the same AI, what is any company actually worth? Your talent was your moat. Your institutional knowledge. The judgment your people built over decades. Strip it out and you have made yourself identical to your competitor. I have spent ten years studying AI and work. The story you are being told — inevitable, competitive, your job is next — does not survive contact with two hundred years of economic theory. AI is powerful. You should be learning it. But the real story is not competition between you and the machine. It is about cooperation. This is Part 0 of a 19-part series on what economics actually says about AI and your job. Not panic. Not reassurance. A framework. New video every weekday. Follow if you want the full series. 🎬 AI & Jobs #brainrot #ai #aiandjobs #stayhuman #artificialintelligence

Remember when self-driving cars were going to replace all truck drivers? Investment in the technology has gone to near zero, and we still have plenty of truck drivers.

If AI replaced office workers in the numbers Microsoft say, the company would fold as companies would not need so many 365 user accounts.

They've been saying it's going to replace all these jobs for the last 2 years and ChatGPT still can't even automate a task or give a complex answer to a question without fabricating facts.

The part of the equation they’re forgetting about is if they eliminate all the jobs there’s gonna be no consumers to consume their products.

I’m a software engineer and I’m not worried at all. If anything I’m busier than ever. AI can code as well as it could drive a car. Tin hat on, I believe over reliance will destroy problem solving and creative skills. This is what keeps us employed essentially! This is where the large companies want us. Locked into subscriptions as a result.

I can't wait for this bubble to burst. I'm bored of ai and I'm so bored of hearing how it's revolutionising everything and eliminating jobs

It’s all marketing. They say something everyone repeats it and the cycle keeps going yet study after study says AI replacement is failing. Heck my iPhone can’t even type this message

Innovation will halt. Organizations will grow brittle. I am advocating for Agentpreneurship, the ability to own my own agent, the version of myself, that goes to work on my behalf. I train it, I maintain it and I am accountable for it.

If you use AI seriously at work (software engineer here) you know you’re not being replaced. It’s a tool and a productivity multiplier, that’s it.

I love this video so much…because if Accountants, Project Managers, etc can be replaced, then can’t CEOs be replaced?

If Elon can make billions on a decade of bunk claims of full self-driving cars why can't we all replicate that success?

This is the question. What is the end-game. It appears to me to be the proverbial snake eating its tail. If so many workers are eliminated, who then is the consumer?

We’re already in such a terrible place as a society when putting millions of people out of work is a “selling point” for this technology 🫠

AIs can't be held accountable. That makes them unlikely to replace the manager types that are generally held accountable for lack of success.

The owners of the AI companies take all the value they can, and they don't care what comes later because they are narcissistic sociopaths. There's no grand design, just a chaotic wealth grab, an investment bubble and disenfranchised consumers and workers

As a contracts lawyer AI has been able to review a contract better than me for years. What it can't do is deal with the human relationships necessary for a successful negotiation or read between the lines about what people actually want.

The irony is that we ground and train ai on datapoints created by humans. As ai can only train on ai generated data, it becomes a house of cards, hallucinating all over the place, ultimately making it worthless.

Spot on. AI at best can aid us in reducing admin and getting things quicker which will enable us to work on strategic direction or focus on selling if you are in a sales role. Any company using AI to reduce head count and replace the workforce is truly doomed.

I was at Microsoft when they automated away many of the CPAs working in their finance division. They were proud of that. Then the automated away *my* job. Big changes are coming. Big changes are already happening.
