the snack thing is absolutely fair. like I get that you're hungry. I don't want you to go with out food. but you can wait until my class period is over and if you pull out the food during class, I can guarantee that whatrver snack you pull out is going to become what everyone focuses on. kids up, walking over to that person, and then they just HAVE to go wash their hands and spend 30 min in the bathroom doing it

at my school I can be in class and talking to my teacher and they will still mark me absent and my parents get a notification and they are like why were you absent and I can tell them everything I did in that class

As someone who had a teacher who was worried about not only me passing her subject with me passing in school in general you don’t know how much your student is appreciate that that Teacher was the one who helped me and my parents realise that I had to be diagnosed with ADHD so I bet your students love you

Number 1 engenders a prodigious amount of good will. When I see a student working on assessments for other classes, I ask, "When is that due?" They usually respond, "Next period" or "later today." I then say, "When is my assignment due?" They respond, and I add, "As long as you get my work done by its due date, do what you have to do!" This doesn't bother me, as the student is prioritizing their work and demonstrating excellent time management skills. Consequently, the student sees that I'm reasonable and not an educational bureaucrat.

I love these, especially with the first one like I’m in class and my teacher wants me to work on something that’s due in two weeks but I have a test the next day that I could be studying for and sometimes they will let me work out something else, but sometimes they won’t and it’s really annoying because I can finish that later yk

#1 saved me in HS I was failing a non required class for graduation but needed to pass my core classes and one of my teachers would just let me do my homework in her class in the back so I could graduate my senior year.
