When I did archery at summer came, the counselors were stringing the bows wrong (I already had archery experience before that) but when I tried to tell them they said I was wrong. I kept insisting and was on the verge of tears until they said I could try stringing it the way I wanted to but I'd have to pay if it broke. Of course I strung it correctly and showed them and they finally agreed i was right, but after all that I was so upset and hurt about how they talked down to me that I didn't even want to do the archery activity anymore

At conventions we’re not allowed to have actually strung bows which might be why you see a lot of cosplayers with incorrectly strung bows :)
