@ashleyjames: It’s not often I’m lost for words, but I have struggled to put into words my despair at witnessing Pam Bondi’s total disrespect towards some of the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein. Surely, regardless of our political sides, we should all be against the horrors of pa3dophilia and child s3x trafficking? These brave women have been trying to get justice for DECADES. The system that is meant to be there to protect us has in fact been protecting those at the top. And it still is. Those in power, those in the monarchy… we are watching. 👀 To see Pam Bondi show such a lack of empathy to those women and try to score political points and stoke more division made me feel sick. I wrote a chapter in my book called Silly Girl about how easily women are dismissed, blamed, or made to doubt their own experiences after abuse. We ask more questions about what women and girls did to keep themselves safe than we do about the perpetrators. My chapter addresses that victim blaming directly. At one point, Pam Bondi said that if everyone in the Epstein files were prosecuted, “the whole system would collapse.” Well, if that isn’t proof that something is fundamentally broken, I don’t know what is. 🔥🔥 I don’t know how you are all feeling, but I’m genuinely struggling to regulate my despair. We grew up believing that if you did something wrong you would be held accountable. Right now it feels like that only applies if you are not a rich and powerful man. We want to know that the system we pay our taxes into protects us, not those in positions of power.😩💔
