I read Wild Swans in the early 90’s when it was first published. It’s stayed with me all these years. And so interesting to compare China now, in the 90’s they were still very closed off.

I remember reading bury my heart at wounded knee and being like HOW IS THIS NOT TAUGHT IN SCHOOL. also yes is long but it actually is a page turner. wild swans was given to me by my mom and she just said "you cannot call yourself well read without reading this" and yes I agree. you will understand so much from reading it.

I read Wild Swans when i was 14, and every few years since, i reread it. It’s truly one of the best books ever written. Simply superb and I’m so happy to see it included in this list❤️
