I was expecting to cry more !! But I think there is an underlying hatred for both Cathy and Heathcliff. They are both responsible for their undoing and it’s hard to feel sorry for them.

It’s not necessarily a sad “part”, It’s the magnetic, impossibly toxically doomed relationship between Cathrine and Heathcliff. As horrible as it was you still want to see them together in the end

Because I think they don’t know the story never read the book and this movie takes on some romantic take. When I read the book I was kinda disgusted with both characters. Cathy was a manipulator and Heathcliff was a narcissist.
