Drying against the growth is how you dry doodles. It will fluffy the hair and straighten the shaft so you can cut the hair more evenly.

and fyi if you have a dog that sheds their hair more do this outside when/if you can! I have a dryer like this for my basset hound and when I use it in my bathroom the hair gets EVERY WHERE 😂 it really blows the hair out lol sticks to my ceiling too even though I try blowing drying her in the tub with the curtain shut a bit it still blows all over they're powerful, mine isn't this brand though

hot air is not recommended for dry blowing a dog's coat. Dogs have much thinner skin than humans and are highly sensitive to heat, making high-temperature air dangerous and likely to cause skin burns or dry out their coat.
