Fred Kwong :
Two weeks before Chinese New Year, my employment was terminated, and I was informed that there would be no bonus. As a Chinese, the timing carried a deeper emotional weight. It was not just a professional setback — it felt personal.
I have served as CTO since June 2018, leading the IT development team in building and delivering SaaS solutions. We operated under tight budgets and constant constraints, yet we pushed forward with commitment, discipline, and pride in our work. Limited resources never limited our determination.
After years of contribution, the decision was made to replace me. That is the reality of corporate life.
I am 64 years old, but I remain healthy, capable, and mentally sharp. Experience does not diminish with age — it deepens. I carry with me years of leadership, resilience, and lessons learned.
While the ending was difficult, I choose not to dwell in bitterness. Instead, I am ready for a new chapter. I am continuing to learn, especially in AI and emerging technologies. I remain open to opportunities where I can contribute my IT experience, strategic thinking, and leadership.
Most importantly, I am managing my mental state with clarity and strength. Life is not defined by one chapter. I am grateful for what I have built, and I am genuinely excited for the challenges ahead.
This is not the end. It is simply a transition. 🙏😎
