@charityky: Packing for a Royal Caribbean cruise? Read this before you zip your suitcase. Every sailing, Royal Caribbean holds luggage that contains prohibited electrical items. If your bag is flagged during screening, you may be asked to report to security to remove the item before your luggage is delivered to your cabin. The most common items that end up at security on Royal Caribbean: • Extension cords • Surge protectors (even small ones) • Power strips • Garment steamers • Clothing irons • Open-coil heating devices Here’s where people get confused: Royal Caribbean allows USB charging hubs with four USB ports or fewer — but they cannot include an extra electrical outlet and they cannot have surge protection. If it adds extra 110v outlets or has surge suppression, it’s not allowed. Most standard Royal Caribbean cabins typically include: • Two U.S. 110v outlets • One European-style 220v outlet Many cruisers bring a simple European adapter (not a converter) to use that extra outlet space safely. Cruise cabins are not wired like hotels. These rules exist for fire safety and electrical load control at sea. Before you pack, always review Royal Caribbean’s current prohibited items list on their website, because policies can change. If you want examples of ship-safe charging options that follow Royal Caribbean’s guidelines, I’ve linked the compliant ones I personally use. Save this so your vacation doesn’t start at the security desk. #RoyalCaribbean #RoyalCaribbeanCruise #CruisePackingTips #CruiseEssentials #CruiseApproved

I just got off a Royal Caribbean cruise yesterday and walked by a long table full of steamers and extension cords that had been confiscated.

They will also confiscate your cpap and you will have to convince them it’s for sleeping not for steaming your clothes

So if we’re not taking steamers, how are we making sure we don’t have wrinkles?

That must depend on the ship and port. I had no problem bringing an extension cord, a multi usb port cord and my straightener when I cruised on RC
