Software Engineer here. We haven't reached true AGI because the models can't learn on their own, they still require data from us. Don't believe me? Ask your agents to create something that doesn't exist in real life or that hasn't already been created by a human and see how far that takes you.

Super intelligence is not possible without consciousness. Machines are limited by the information humans create. It might be quicker to recall it, store more of it and see patterns within it, though it can never create anything new and breakthrough.
