Since childhood, I have loved music and explored many genres — rock, R&B, J-pop, and classical music. Yet among all the music I have encountered, I have never found anything as deeply spiritual as Noh. The physical movements may appear small, but the true source of power comes from the tanden — the area just below the navel. By controlling posture and breath from this center, we create the performance. Maintaining that control while coordinating the arms, voice, and rhythm is incredibly challenging, and it remains a lifelong pursuit. A full Noh performance often lasts around 90 minutes.
