I would visit my grandparents in Lubec, Maine every summer and always hated how disconnected it felt from everything, but as an adult really appreciate the beauty and quiet that we find up there.

Disconnecting and appreciating nature is the BEST way to reset and clear the open mental tabs. Especially these days.

I live in Alberta and I hate when they start talking about improving cell service in the Rockies. Please don’t ruin it. 😭

My mom used to have a cabin in this really remote spot in British Columbia. No cell service, no Starlink, nothing. just trees, the lake, a gold course and fresh air. This particular place has an air strip and the owners fly their planes in from all over. Such a cool place. It was my favorite place to escape from life and actually live it.

Going to be in Maine for a woodworker event in August! It’s been a bucket list for me since I was little. What are the must see/dos?

Good for you! Mainer here and I found that I’ve been going off grid more often. Things are heavy and excruciating to wake and consume day after day! Great job unplugging.

Hit 2-3 dead zones on commute to and from work. Makes you intentional in your conversation because you know it will be interrupted. Also great excuse when you want to stop a conversation. “Coming up on my big dead zone.”

I think that is why I like going to Acadia. Just sit on the rocks and listening to the waves.
