I can’t imagine even walking in the water here with how erosion has swallowed everything. With how the beach looks, there’s probably so many buried hazards from homes that once were 😳

Maybe I’m missing something, but why can’t they pick up the house and move it further inland like they can move houses that already exist on land?

Sadly eventually most of OBX will wash away 😞 my father in law sold his house on the beach road in kitty hawk because it’s only a matter of time

There were some on the northern end of topsail I’d always walk past at low tide while beach combing. I moved in 2020 and the humongous sandbags were still holding them down… I think of them often 🥺
