My parents love Itoen…and hotels similar. They’ve been taking us to Japan since the 90’s and Dads slight obsessed with the buffet. On my last trip I chose a Ryokan in Kinosaki and he was weirdly upset 😂

This reminds me of a budget place that I stayed in Hokkaido back in 2005. The floor to our room was sloped so over the night my bed slowly slid across the tatami floor…. 😅😂 but it was awesome

I love these slightly doofy old Japanese hotels. The only downside is that most of them ban tattoos in the onsen so I miss out on the best bit.
