@built_by_harolay: Let's calculate carefully 👇 You said 50 ft by 100 ft land, and you want to fence it using blocks. --- Step 1. Find the perimeter Perimeter = 2 × (Length + Width) = 2 × (100 + 50) = 2 × 150 = 300 ft --- Step 2. Size of one block A standard Nigerian block (hollow block) is about 18 inches long (1.6 ft). If you’re using a 6-inch or 9-inch block, the length is still roughly 1.6 ft. But I recommend 9- inch --- Step 3. Number of blocks per course (row) Number of blocks per row = Perimeter ÷ Block length = 300 ÷ 1.7 with mortal = 177 blocks per course --- Step 4. Number of block courses (height) Typical fence height: 3 feet 4 (≈ 4 block courses) – low fence 6 feet 8 (≈ 8 block courses) – average 10 feet (≈ 12 block courses) – tall fence So: 4 courses → 177× 4 = 708 blocks 8 courses → 177 × 8 = 1,416 blocks 12 courses → 177 × 12 = 2,124 blocks --- Step 5. Add allowance for pillars, corners & breakage Add about 5% extra #harolay_engineering_services #buildingtips #BuiltToLast #mustknowfacts
