@meditatewithamanda: Putting an ice pack on the back of your neck actually stimulates the vagus nerve and helps calm your nervous system. Cold exposure in this area can: • Lower heart rate • Reduce that adrenaline surge • Signal safety to your brain • Interrupt anxiety spirals When your body feels safe, your thoughts soften. Sometimes peace starts in the body. While I hold the ice here, I pray: Inhale: “I am safe” Exhale: “God is with me.” Regulation isn’t a lack of faith. Sometimes it’s how we make space to experience it. Save this for the next spiral. 🤍 #ChristianMentalHealth #NervousSystemRegulation #AnxietyRelief #nervoussystemhealing #christianreels
It doesn’t work for me but laying on a clod floor does

I put an ice pack right in the center of my chest for 15-20 mins. Literally the only way I’m able to sleep some nights

My doctor put me on Zoloft instead of listening to my symptoms (it was low vitamin d and ferritin) and it triggered reflux which in turn messed with my vagus nerve and I was having massive panic attacks after eating. Thank God I figured it out. It’s still healing and sensitive after 7 months. But now I know how to naturally deal with it.

Makes total sense, cause first thing we do anytime we are throwing up or have an upset stomach is put a cold wet washcloth on the back of our necks, helps tremendously.

For years I have been the proponent of a cold wash cloth on the back of the neck does wonders.
