Better ending would’ve been when Diana said to pippa let’s go she would’ve tipped the cops so when Lucy comes out of the gas station, she hears Stephen being arrested for the murder of Macy and boom ends

I still really loved it. The way Stephen had to leave Lucy in a brash way was really the only way for her to heal. And he in his own selfish way gave her closure to that time in her life by his outburst in the wedding. I dated a Stephen so I liked it

I interpreted it as a way patriarchy messes with everyone. Alex was affected by the abuse he faced in foster care with alluded to what Lucy alleged happened to her and he felt a trauma bond. The trauma bond was the narcissistic behaviors of patriarchy and how even we as women with the tightest relationships let patriarchy manipulate its way into our lives. Even with the male relationships. They all had aspects of toxic masculinity, Wrigleys vulnerability was refreshing but he seemed to listen to the women around him the most.

Thank you. This is why I absolutely did not like the finale. I feel so seen.😅🙏🏾 it was quite weak, given the heaviness of the series itself

I agree. while I enjoyed this season and the finale....it still felt incomplete. I do think another season would have been perfect. Pippa said Lucy almost didnt come back from sophomore year....I can see how her being expelled would have caused a crash out, but we didnt see it. I would have loved a season of Lucy out of school spiraling or something. I think it would have connected more dots. We also talk about Brees life in foster care but keep it vague...then we introduce Alex, so I think we'll get more...buuuuut nope lol. Then we never learn much more about Pippas background. I also would have loved to see Diana going to Yale. There was so much more.

I agree on Alex but knew it weren't going anywhere based on how they ended it with Leo. They show up as super complex and interesting characters and then nothing. As for the friendships I feel like Bree stayed friends with Lucy because she felt bad for getting her expelled. Wrigley and Bree bonded over the same thing they did in college (both unhappy but happy with each other). But except for that I really enjoyed the ending. Even tho Stephen is as bad as anyone can get he freed them all from each other. Nobody would've done that otherwise. And him, Oliver and Chris not getting consequences is unfortunately very realistic...

Yes I wonder what the girls did to stay in touch, obviously seen each other enough times that Lucy ends up a bridesmaid in Bree’s wedding! I feel like maybe 3-4 years after college would have made more sense than 6!

The season was lackluster and left too many unanswered questions. Simply because we had room to grow and opportunity for justice to happen. Unfortunately it’s set in 2009 and had more of them evolved as people post college would have made a better and cohesive story. Which would make sense in 2015.

I don’t think we need to be shown it or anything but I’m so intrigued thinking about what junior and senior year would have been like for bree and pippa now that Lucy, Diana and all the boys are gone. Like a relief but also kinda empty?

I disagree the way the timelines were it would not have made sense. The show was about the toxic relationship between lovers and friends they all were partying ways at that point regardless. The boys were seniors. It wouldn’t make sense to watch a show of a group of people in different city’s and navigate life. that would just add the need to add more characters to fill the gaps. As for Chris and Alex they weren’t there to get an ending they served a purpose for the main cast they don’t need an ending cause it ended. pippa was never going to come forward we all know a man that has gotten away with something he did. And Alex was a great character but he was there for one reason for Lucy post Stephen. The writer touch on his back story but it’s hinted at not deeply flushed out cause he wasn’t a main character so again he didn’t need to have an ending. If you think about it Bree would’ve probably came clean to Alex about what she did with the tape and how Lucy was only helping pippa and Alex since he seemed to be very moral he probably would’ve stop speaking to her, probably why he wasn’t at the wedding.

The timeline with the wedding and the ending was all off. They really could've did it better. I don't think they thought it through until it was too late.

Also why was the burn not addressed again? I feel like they put an emphasis on it and then we forgot about it. I realize it was also a representation of the festering that was happening in Lucy’s life but it seemed like an abandoned detail
