just watched for the first time last night since it’s finally on HBO and the people who “hated it” just didn’t get it. it’s a beautiful tragedy. yes, it’s not like the book, that’s why it’s an adaptation and the movie title is in quotes. the longing and miscommunication and the ending was beautifully devastating.

I’m not a romance movie girl but it was a stressful week at work and HBO recommended this to me first so I said what the heck & watched it alone on Friday. The way I SOBBED for 45 minutes in the dark, alone, after it ended. And then again for 2 hours while talking about it on FaceTime. It’s Sunday, and rereading these comments triggered it again. The way this film has me in an absolute chokehold.
