One tip - Don’t download the go app before your trip, it won’t work properly and you’ll need to reinstall (I went in 2024 so maybe it’s fixed now). Almost missed our team lab reservation because it would not work 😬

Tokyo is the same thing as Kyoto, there isn't enough time to see and do. There's far too much areas, let alone them hidden gems and it's very busy. Spent full 2 weeks in Tokyo alone and was barely enough. A whole month is needed I'd say.

Taxis actually are pretty expensive in Japan and never try to open the door yourself, it opens automatically.

My son and grandson just came from Tokyo, Japan they had an amazing time. He said it was fun and super easy to travel there. Everything you said he did it all. Airport staff was so surprised he had everything already done. Way easier to get through airport and immigration.

we just came back and did Osaka, kyoto and tokyo. if we did it again we'd do tokyo first, then Osaka and take a day trip to kyoto.
