That’s why you don’t go to a buy here pay here…you go to a dealership because if something goes wrong you’re covered by the manufacturer…it’s as simple as that and as per a used car, you should buy it certified pre owned that comes with a warranty from the manufacturer as well. Any other way, yes it’s solely on you unless you buy a aftermarket warranty

My car I have currently was from a buy here and pay here and had this similar situation but wasn’t too worried about it Becuase it’s a Camry and those are east and relatively easy to fix. Ended up having to replace the radiator, battery, alternator, top engine strut(mount) did ku spark plugs, got four new tires etc…had this been like a German car I’d have been in tears lol

Don’t ruin your credit and you won’t have to go to a buy here pay here. Also people who get buy here pay here cars end up stop making payments after 2-3 months and then we have to chase it down and repo it back.

I take my TOPDON scanner with me and then I take it to my friends shop and put it on a lift for a visual inspection.
