I love what you've said. This is a part of positioning that isn't talked about. It's called Repositioning the Competition or the Against Position. You basically look for a weakness of your top competitor and make it your strength (or the core feature of your product). That way when people think of your competition and their weakness, they automatically remember you. Positioning literally takes place in the mind of the prospect, not the product creator/founder. And most tech founders miss it here through faulty positioning and unclear messaging. That's why they're unable to score their first set of clients and users.

The part nobody says out loud about the first 1000 is that almost none of these channels compound. They buy you signal, not growth. Worth picking upfront the one you'd be willing to do 200 times, because that's the only one that turns into a loop - the rest are spikes you have to go chase again next month.
