Hi new viewer here! I adore you and your family🩶 could you or have you done a story on how he became deaf? i’m just curious and would love to know more. I’m a pediatric ultrasound tech and have been seeing more and more deaf children and trying to learn some so when they come to me i can use it!

I am a CODA and my mother was born into a hearing family. They sent her away to Deaf Institute (boarding school for the Deaf, basically?) when she was 3 years old and she went away to school every year until she was 18. She was the oldest of 11 children and her parents, nor most of her siblings ever learned ASL. My grandmother eventually learned and so did most of her siblings but your videos heal some kind of generational trauma in me. It’s so beautiful the way you meet him where he is and are learning along with him. It’s special. 💙

a great go to app is pocket ASL, there is a dictionary you can search, and it brings up the signs 🙂
