I let a student start my IV when I was having surgery. I've got really good veins and I'm not scared of needles, so I actually offered to let her try. She was more nervous than me. She went to ask her nurse supervisor about it, and as soon as the supervisor saw my veins she went "oh yeah, you're doing her IV!" One of the best IVs I've had.
