No one really knows how heavy your heart feels for a reason: You don’t talk about it. You laugh, smile, talk, reply to others, and feel like you’re having a good moment, but that’s all you do. You expect people to come to you and create closeness, to create a deeper relationship, which is known as friendship. That’s not how it works. You’re surrounded by people who live in their own worlds. People who only see the version of you that you always show in front of them. That’s all, that’s what YOU are to them. They aren’t responsible for asking you about your life, your feelings, your struggles, when they’re just having a good time with you. YOU are responsible for what you feel and what you talk or don’t talk about. You can’t create connections and expect them to come to you, that’s why you feel so empty and alone, like you’re carrying a weight nobody will ever understand. If that’s the case, find someone specific you wanna be close to. That’s something YOU must find, not magically expect random connections to make you part of their worries when they already have their own. Those people who don’t know about you aren’t your “friends”, they’re just people you know that you spend time with. When you feel so empty, like nobody knows your struggles, that means you’re just making connections to feel like you matter, to feel like somebody cares about you. If that’s what you expect, talk to them about how much you wanna feel seen. Don’t act normal and expect someone to notice, ‘cause no one really cares. If they did, they’d show it, but you’re expecting it to come from random people you know, while it should be something YOU open up about to someone, not them asking you to do so.
