@haleykloha: These are the tenants that the church was built on, coercive control and male dominance, and not just in this country but worldwide. Even if a church doesn’t “act this way” now, it is build into the roots of the institution. The Christian church is abusive. The men it creates often uphold these structures. Those who aren’t actively dismantling these fundamental pillars are complicit. Identifying the arms of the patriarchy is vital to unlearning and rebuilding a better paradigm, where can knowing this take us?

Let’s talk about the idea of God as outside and separate from us at all not just a Christian God the Christian God is just the most explicitly controlling and providing of the idea of ownership, which is ironic because we own the concept of God as well as giving God, the ownership of us in order for God to give us the ownership of our own children, etc. divinity itself is the problem.
