My kiddos were also behind when we moved to Alabama. They were in grades 4 and 8. My daughter had much more support in the US with extra help through the school. We moved back to Canada this past summer and she is basically at grade level here. The IEP teacher doesn’t really know why she is on it? So that kinda squashes the whole education is terrible in the US.

So, I hear that Americans who move to Canada are shocked that parents are allowed into the child’s classroom. That’s not allowed in many US schools. Security reasons. Have you been in your child’s classroom yet? By the way, I’m not sure what part of Ontario you are from, but it’s highly unusual to see police outside of school particularly even if it is just for traffic control. And this business is a little bizarre.
