I think that it's partially generational but also... I just went through menopause and I no longer prioritize anyone else but myself and my kids. With the extra testosterone I no longer feel the need to 'make the peace' for everyone around me especially men. I look back I understand why I did this for so many years but am also glad for the hormonal change that helps me balance my relationships in a better way.
