I think you’re mixing texture with curl type you have a 4a curl type with a course texture that’s why you feel like when your hair is dry it looks 4c I have the same type hair I hope that’s helps

That is just not 4c, 4c is tight coils. That is standard for dry curly hair. Look up 4c it looks completely different wet AND dry

The longer the hair, the wider the wave pattern because of the weight on the curl the shorter the hair that’s tighter the wave pattern

It looks similar to mine 3c or 4a. I’m no expert but 4c hair is the tightest curl it wouldn’t look like that wet or with conditioner. All 4 heads look like a fro when dried

4B. 4 is the type B is the pattern. you "curl" pattern is wavy. 4C is a tight coil. I also have very coarse thick 4B hair.
