Mechanic here. This puts wear on your starter by how many times it stops and starts, this does not save you gas. Theres a feature in EVERY car when you start the car up, the engine shoots to about over 1000 RPM, which uses more gas, more RPM: more gas for the injectors to shoot more gasyou aint saving money.

if your gas pedal is locked down from a mat and you hold the brakes down the car will cut the accelerator off, at least in Toyotas

I tried doing this in a Chrysler 200 after an accident. The front right wheel was ripped off and it wouldn’t go in park. I belt the start/stop button and it did absolutely nothing. I have tested this on a Mercedes GLA, 2nd gen Prius, and a Mazda CX-5, it worked in all of those
