You ever been to Florida? You pay taxes or fees on everything. Going a mile down the road, sunbelt fee, going to a state park, fee. You ever been to Miami? There’s an extra city tax higher than the state tax which is already 6%. More people probably prefer to be taxed on what they use but it doesn’t mean they’re not finding it in different ways.

Florida does not offer the same services as NYC. It not rational to compare states vs city budgets. NYC runs its own public school system, public transit and etc. maybe look at what services are being provided than just the budget
