the mandalorian series and mandalorian and grogu movies do NOT take place before return of the jedi. It is set after, the New Republic is literally mentioned and thats after rotj.. obviously. Plus the empire remnants in trailers suggest it is after the rotj, possibly a set up for thrawn’s return. Not hating btw

Hello Scorpiomarsss, the timeline is after the events of ROTJ, 5 years later we get the 1st season of the Mandalorian. The Empire forces are scattered thru out the galaxy but not fully destroyed. The New Republic is trying to get control of the galaxy but the NR is not well organized. May the Force be with you.

The mandalorian series itself takes place 5 years after the events of ROTJ. Like Ahsoka series and the book of boba fett, 5 years after ROTJ. Some of the empire are still around after Vader’s death.. including Thrawn.

This trailer did what it needed to do. It got me interested. Until now, nothing about the marketing had blown my skirt up, but this trailer got me excited for the movie without spoiling the plot. Where before I was in the camp of “I’ll watch it on Disney plus”, now I’m for the theater. If they continue on this trajectory, maybe I’ll get to being an opening night guy.
