@louisethompson: A thought that I had when I was in hospital ! Be kind and compassionate to everyone always. The smoker outside the hospital he might have one week left to live, don’t judge him for not sipping on a green juice. L x #perspective #louiseisgettingbetter #louiseptsd #ptsdrecovery #trauma
This isn’t just true of very ill people. It’s also true of people living with chronic stress, poverty or trauma. Not that Louise contradicted this, it’s just a reminder! Be kind ♥️

They shouldn’t smoke outside the hospital though it’s so unbelievably selfish for the non smokers

People rarely understand the "freedom of good health" until you spend weeks and months watching a loved one deteriorate in hospital - don't judge

I agree, my perspective shifted when my mum was palliative - it became about small comforts, what joy she could have in the moment and her having what she wanted at that time, rather than what was ‘healthy’ and would get her better x

As a nurse the biggest lesson for me was to teach the public how to be autonomous, informed decision makers, do not judge decisions, no one walks the same path but everyone deserves the same rights to care ❤️

I totally agree with you Louise. I had a lot of treatment in Charing Cross hospital. I also saw people in wheelchairs having a cig outside. I would catch their eye and just smile. They are just enjoying a few mins of freedom with no rules enjoying the sunshine x

I’ve come outta hospital today from respiratory ward … had to try hold my breathe as I walked out the door through the smoke … please just step to the side .. not in front of the door … people can do what they like .. but please just be respectful

Fair just wish they wouldn’t do it near the entrances so we all have to all breathe it in especially when you have children or babies with you

Totally agree. When someone knows their time is up and nothing they do now will change the outcome, let them use whatever crutch they need.

Absolutely, we shouldn’t be judgemental, but we’ve got to remember the role of the addiction plays in this and it can have a very powerful hold over people.
