This video brings me to tears every time I watch it, because wow.. what a God we serve. This is why where you’re planted matters. This is why relationship and community matters so much. This Sunday, a few weeks ago, was the first Sunday that Jennings returned to our home church. He sat several rows behind me, which was fine beyond words, in my eyes. Because it was never about him returning for me. It was always about him returning home to the Lord. There were many Sundays I didn’t want to leave church during our separation. I would sit through both services and just cry through most of the message. I would pray over that empty seat next to me, not in the hopes that Jennings would return back to our home church, but for him to be planted in the House of God, whatever that capacity looked like. My church family surrounded me during a time in my life, where I had literally hit rock bottom. My entire life was caving in around me. They helped to keep me on track and they helped to pick me up every single day. They surrounded me in prayer on the days that I had no words. They prayed over our kids. They prayed over our marriage. They prayed over my husband. They prayed over me. During a season where I had nowhere to turn, I turned to God. I turned to healing. I turned to faith. I knew I would come out of that season of life, a completely different person, because through God, all things are possible, and I knew, that even if my husband was what I lost through the transformation, through the revival of my own life, I knew that if it was God’s will, that it was worth it, because I found myself. It doesn’t mean that the prayers over Jennings never stopped. It doesn’t mean that I lost faith. It simply means that I laid it all at the feet of our Lord and Savior and trusted in His plan for both of our lives. I praise God everyday for the blessings that He has poured out over us individually. The growth that is happening everyday. The marriage that is being restored in His name. The family that is being reunified. We are truly two people who are being renewed and transformed by the hands of God. Not going back to our old ways, but relearning each other and rerooting ourselves in faith. God took our dry bones and breathed life back into them. Thank you, Lord.
