Canada years ago made deals with America where they would extract the oil and send it to the usa for refinement and then reimport it. Canada needs to make its own refinement facilities

Way Canada send crude oil to USA to clean ? Then Canada buy the same oil from USA. So Oil gets very expensive . If Canada refined its own oil, we could get cheaper oil.

Irving’s refinery located at St. John, New Brunswick : 320,000 barrels of crude oil per day, majority coming from Saudi Arabia, Norway and Nigeria. 80 percent is sold to the USA.

If only we had kept oil as a national product, this video would be mute. But because we've sold it off as a commodity this is how things work in the real world. The conservative government of the day sold off Petro Canada private interests.

you miss that oil comes in grades. Alberta's is poor grade, while middle east is sweet crude. refineries are built to run on a type. Eastern Canada refineries are designed to run sweet crude, while Texas refineries are set for heavy oil like alberta.
