@kayli.kiing: full list of my favorite places below 👇🏼✨🇯🇵 For glasses: JINS Zoff If you want anything different for your lenses (blue light, fashion tint, etc) those take a week and I would do that at the start of your trip, they do not ship internationally! For my script at Zoff, they were only able to do 1 pair day of, while I’ve had better luck at JINS getting 2 pairs done in a day. For thrifting/vintage: Desert Snow Shibuya (right across the street from JINS) 2nd Street Harajuku (multiple stores this area) NoTIME thrift store (whole street of stores in Setagaya City near this one) verandah omotesando ベランダ表参道 This is not for the super cheap prices, it’s mostly for the selection and it’s not a hunt of “oh I hope I find something” it’s “oh how am I going to choose” Osaka also has incredible second hand clothing options! I do recommend bringing an empty bag to fill and take back 👀 OH and my favorite used camera store: Lucky Camera in Shinjuku! I get my old film cameras from there. #thrifting #thriftingjapan #traveljapan #thrifthaul
I was so excited for JINS but it’s sooo low quality

I wish people would talk moor truthfully about getting classes in Japan. yes it is much cheaper but for people with really bad eyesight it takes two to three weeks to get new glasses even in Japan. not just 30 minutes.
I although get new glasses every time I visit but only when I stay for a longer time.
please keep that in mind.

PSA if you have astigmatism sometimes their turn around time can be 4-5 days. I found out the hard way. If I would have know I would have done it right when I got there but I pushed it back. Totally on me but none of the videos I saw had that informations

I do the same for my glasses whenever I go to Spain. Walk in, free eye exam, pick frame, ready in one hour. I love it.

I have a high prescription (-9&-7) so they cost me a pretty penny in the US especially if I want to make them thinner, it took jins a week to make mine due to the high prescription I bout 2 pairs for $310 one pair has a magnetic sunshade add on,I would've paid more In the US for one pair and it would've taken up to 3 weeks!

I told my husband this-that if we ever end up vacationing here, I'll be getting glasses, hitting the thrift stores, looking for vintage kimono/kimono fabrics, and grabbing a pair Onitsuka Tigers and Rockfish Weatherwear shoes! 😏

YES THRIFTIN IN JAPAN IS ELITE. I’ve got cute work blouses I could see myself wearing forever that were ¥330 (like $2.50ish) and even my winter jacket I got ¥800 (8$!!) I got a Kate spade bag for ¥5,500!!! Like $50. I lived in rural Japan so maybe the prices were cheaper but STILL

If you’re looking for glasses, Korea is even better. Basically tons of glasses stores (even the popular ones like Blue Elephant, Double Lovers, Gentle Monster) and it takes like 20 min to add lenses. If it’s in your budget, Japan does have some great frame makers though.
