I just went to the dentist today for the first time in like 10 years and they said i have periodontal disease and plaque and charged me almost $4,000 for two upcoming teeth cleanings and that's with my insurance. So I'll have to go somewhere else cause im not paying that - but that's why I haven't gone in ******* years 😂😭 Like I'm supposed to pay $8,000 grand a year on my teeth???

Idk why teeth are luxury bones. They are tied to the rest of your health. It would make more sense for insurances to cover more dental care as bad teeth can cause major health issues outside of tooth pain.

I watched a video of a lady that works at a dental office and she described dental insurance as a coupon and that makes so much sense now 😅

1k for an emergency room visit for chest pains - 700 for a sprained ankle i went to urgent care for - 300 for a concussion - all with insurance 😭😭😭

My daughter needed 3 crowns a while back when we had good insurance... It STILL costed us $2,500. If she needed them now, without insurance...? I don't wanna think about it. 😭

I have dental insurance with like 80-90% coverage and ONE basic filling was like $600 out of pocket WITH my insurance

You’re likely going to a place that’s out of network but still bills your insurance !!! Call your insurance company and find out who is in networks in the area and look to switch. As someone who worked in dental that sounds somewhat reasonable but you may be able to get a better deal if they’re not actually in network !

I learned getting dental insurance from your dentist office of choice sometimes ends up saving you thousands (it did for me before I left)

You can have the office request a pre-treatment estimate before your appointment. It'll tell you what you'll pay out of pocket. Most dental insurance covers cleanings and xrays every six months, some have small copays for preventative. Also make sure your dentist is "in network" with your dental plan. If they're not, you don't benefit fron the in-network write off.
