@malisson.juno: Björn Andrésen was one of the most influential muses for manga artists, becoming a heavy inspiration for the ‘bishōnen’ archetype of Japanese anime since the 70s. However, his story is far from one to be romanticized, and anyone who admires him must FIRST read into his background. Starting as a child actor in the 1971 film ‘Death in Venice’ (directed by the renowned-yet-controversial Italian director Luchino Visconti), Andrésen received overnight media success for his otherworldly appearance, even being dubbed the “most beautiful boy in the world.” This attention forced Andrésen to experience years of horrific exploitation and countless unwanted advances from men and women alike, throughout his short-lived acting career. Eventually, the young man hid from the public eye until near the end of his life, when he starred in a minor role in ‘Midsommar’ (2019). Rest in Peace Björn, as we will cherish you for all of the contributions you made for us 🩶🕊️ . I will make a video about his story soon… Andrésen is one of my biggest inspirations, and I hope to educate others on someone who had such a clear influence on my work. My biggest fear, however, is that the greater message of his story becomes overlooked. Björn suffered so much at the hands of greed, lust, and idolatry, especially by older, richer men in power.
