Trace Reagan :
A few thoughts: I have struggled with the same guilt of leaving family behind, just being from one state but living 900 miles away in another state for some decades. I felt guilty that my life has been somewhat easier than most of my family, that my home is bigger, etc., even that the climate is better. However, I try very hard to stay connected with my family through text threads, FaceTime, phone calls and visits. That is a priority, to be as much a part of their lives as possible. But I am staying here. I have a life here now no matter how deeply my roots are there. Second though is that I refuse to allow others to make me feel guilty about “being happy” even in this political climate. I will NOT be ashamed of being an American. I may not always agree with everything going on, but I choose life & happiness, kindness and hope. And I choose America. I would love to visit other places more (including and ESPECIALLY the UK where 90% or more of my roots are 🥰) but I was just thinking earlier today that I know I will never actually move to a different place because of all the opportunity, my love for this place and simple hope for the future. Last thought, I am so glad you & Ollie are here. I love your videos, your journey, your thoughts. I think you are such a special person. Keep doing what’s best for you & Ollie and let that guilt dissolve like Alka-Seltzer in water! 😂
