The animal is seen climbing along tree trunks and branches using powerful hooked claws. Its prehensile tail anchors and balances the body as it navigates the canopy. Tamanduas are arboreal anteaters built for life in trees across Central America. They are rarely filmed due to nocturnal, solitary behavior and dense forest cover.
