@calmmoneycoach: The economic gap between Canada and the US is now wider than it’s been since World War II. Ontario ranks 48th out of 60 states and provinces. Quebec, 55th. But here’s the thing most people miss: we didn’t get here by accident. Canadian businesses stopped investing in machinery, equipment, and technology. That money went into real estate instead. Other countries have been exactly where we are and turned it around. Australia went from “banana republic” to 30 years of uninterrupted growth. South Korea went from $104 GDP per capita to $36,000. The Bank of Canada did the math: if we’d just matched the G7 average since 2000, every Canadian would have $7,000 more in purchasing power today. We already have great Canadians and great businesses. We just need to invest in them. Look at the provinces that are low. What kind of government runs in? Conservative governments. Conservative governments are bad for the economy.

The GDP percapita is distorted because of the number of billionaires who account for 20% of total wealth in income. There is little to no difference between US and Canada.

The government needs to step in. Real estate in Canada has turned into a lite Ponzi scheme. Why invest in assets that produce tangible value when that value is risky? I’d rather invest in real estate which always goes up. We need to incentivize investing in productivity, and disincentivize real estate investment.

Europe has the same problem and they released a huge report called “The Draghi Report” on European economic competitiveness and most of it asks why Europe fell behind compared to the US. I would bet many of their insights also apply to Canada. Australia has also fallen behind but it’s masked by their extensive resource extraction

it’s a problem for sure BUT look at overall quality of life and you’ll see Canadian cities ALWAYS outrank American cities

@beavstocks: Have you sold options in the past? I’d benefit from some content about the wheel strategy (which accounts to do it in, how to pick stocks, strikes, DTE) if your familiar on the topic 🙌 love your stuff super helpful

We also have propaganda media and liberals. This isn’t changing. It’s time for Alberta to separate.

I like your cute analysis. You have to understand globalization corruption as a factor and the WEF. I was a manufacturer in Canada during the rise of globalization there’s no stopping the globalist. Welcome to the New World order.

You also can’t import 10 million low skill and low wage workers to enable businesses to avoid investing and training their workforce
