Looking at my life now, I realize that all the sacrifices and effort I put in during nursing school were worth it. Every step I took back then brought me to where I am today—and that’s something beautiful. Sure, I still have a long way to go—I’ve only been a registered nurse in the U.S. for almost 2 years. But in hindsight, I’ve already been a nurse for almost a decade. That puts things in perspective. As Gandhi said, “Glory lies in the attempt to reach one’s goal, not in reaching it.” This reminds me that no matter how far a dream feels, there will be a way as long as you keep pushing.
